How to Increase Your Followers and Conversions Organically

We get you. As small business owners, you want to save your marketing spend so you can allocate more budget to operations.

While we recommend supplementing your marketing efforts with paid channels such as Facebook Ads and Google Ads, we understand that we all start small, and that’s a good thing because, through these humble beginnings, we learn to be more practical and strategic.

That’s how we at Social Geeks started as well. We decided to share with you the things we did to grow our online presence organically, which ultimately lead to having all the clients we have right now.

Follow these tips to increase your following and conversions organically.

1. Identify the Correct Channels

Start by choosing the correct social media channels. The key to that is knowing what you’re offering and where your followers are. While being on the top social media channels like Facebook and Instagram is a good move, it’s also essential to know your niche and consider the channel where your niche is.

For example, Pinterest is very fitting for fashion brands because of how highly-visual the platform is. People research on Pinterest before buying products, so it’s a perfect place to post product photos, style tips, and other inspiring content that could make you gain followers and ultimately, sales.

2. Invest in Quality Content

QA is a very vital process in our agency because we believe that quality pays. The quality of content that you publish says a lot about your business — about your capacity to deliver informative, entertaining, and useful content.

We recommend you:

  • Publish written content proofread accurately
  • Post-high-quality images
  • Record clean and audible podcasts
  • Design excellent and visually appealing Infographics

With these, you can establish a reputation and build trust, which is vital in gaining a follower or customer base.

3. Take Advantage of Targeting Options

Many people are still publishing content straight off the bat, hoping to reach the right audience. But did you know that you can actually do some form of organic targeting? By enabling targeting options in your Facebook page’s settings, you can choose an audience category like their gender, relationship status, interests, and language, among others.

4. Read Your Insights

Whenever we develop an organic content strategy, we always access the social media platforms’ insights. These are useful information that you can use in your content strategy.
One of our favourite information in Facebook Insights is “When Your Fans Are Online.” It is logical to post when most of your fans are online so that they can engage with you, increasing the chances of getting your content shared to other people.

5. Interact with Your Audience

Last but not the least is to interact with your audience. Make them feel that you listen and care about them in order to build trust. When someone comments on your post, respond as much as you could.

As soon as someone leaves a review, reply with a message of thanks. Once  your brand gets mentioned in someone’s post, comment or react. These little things may have a considerable impact on your reach, attracting new followers, leads, and conversions.

These are just some of the things we did to gain followers and clients. Organic content marketing takes time and patience to deliver results. It’s tempting to obsess over getting a lot of likes, comments, and shares, but it’s not the true measure of a successful content marketing effort. It’s still reaching the right audience: those that will patronize your products and services. We’d like to end this article with the saying:

“Going viral is not an outcome; it’s a happening. Sometimes it happens; sometimes it doesn’t. Just remember, fans are vanity and sales are sanity. “ – Lori Taylor
